Any Amount of Books Links
| Go to Bookfinder.com which searches ABE, Amazon Biblio, Alibris Antiqbook and many others. Amazon is particularly useful to ascertain whether the book is in print.
We also greatly commend viaLibri (www.vialibri.net/) which searches many sites and also the world's great libraries (for research and further knowledge.) If it is in print you can find the cheapest and nearest copy at ADDALL.COM (new books section). You do not need to type in the author's full name or the complete title in most cases. E.g. if searching for 'The Power and the Glory' by Graham Greene you need only type in Greene in the author field and 'Glory' in the title field. If your book is out of print and not showing up at the excellent Bookfinder try Addall. If there is still no sign of your book you could try a few more sources at Trussel's EclectiCity or even search the entire web at GOOGLE. These services allow for exact phrase matching. If you only have a sketchy idea of the name of the book try a keyword search at Bookfinder or Addall. It is possible, at ABE, to leave a "Want" and be notified by e-mail if and when your book is uploaded by one its many dealers. We heartily recommend this method. Lastly you can look in second hand book shops. They still exist in the real world and are often more amusing than the internet. If you find your book there it is likely to be considerably cheaper and you may find other interesting books on the way (browsing.) This, in our humble opinion, is the way forward. |
